Apple Unveils iPhone 4Apple unveiled its latest innovation–the iPhone 4 on Monday. This version is just as if not more stylish than the previous models.

The phone is very thin at only 0.37 inches, and according to Steve Jobs, Apple’s chief executive, it’s “the thinnest smartphone on the planet.”

The iPhone 4 will be available in the US, Japan, France, UK and Germany on June 24, and it will be available in 88 countries by September.

There are two models–16GB or 32GB flash storage options, priced at $199 and $299, repsectively. The iPhone 3GS price drops to $99.

“When it ships, it will be the best smartphone on the market. It gives Apple a year’s lead on competitors, if not more,” said Tim Bajarin, who has been working as a consultant for Apple for approximately 30 years.

The new iPhone 4 will be available in two colors: black and white. It weighs 4.8 ounces and measures 4.5 x 2.3 x 0.37 inches. When the battery is fully charged you can play video up to 10 hours, and audio playback is up to 40 hours.

The iPhone 4 has a power efficient lithium-ion battery, with a striking standby time of up to 300 hours. Apple has included its own A4 processor in the iPhone, the same that runs the iPad, to perform multiple tasks at an extremely high speed.

The 960-by-640  3.5-inch backlit LCD multi-touch widescreen display on the iPhone 4 has an amazingly high resolution–326 pixels per inch.

There are two cameras–the one on the back is 5 megapixels with 5X digital zoom, promising to offer high quality pictures and HD video capture. Another camera on the front can be used for video calls with an included app called FaceTime.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the iPhone 4. I’ve been holding out for way too long, but I think this summer I’ll make the leap.
